Sometimes that means no-code, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.filecloud.com\/workflow-automation\/\">drag-and-drop workflows<\/a> that allow teams to meet and exceed goals, and sometimes that means integrations with your favorite apps.<\/p>\n<p>Being able to use your favorite tools and apps all within FileCloud\u2019s hyper-secure system isn\u2019t just a nice perk; we consider it a necessity, since the time switching between tools and apps can cost the time equivalent of up to <a href=\"https:\/\/hbr.org\/2022\/08\/how-much-time-and-energy-do-we-waste-toggling-between-applications\">five weeks of work<\/a> in a year!<\/p>\n<p>When you use FileCloud, you can still use your favorite apps like Office 365, Teams, and Google Docs. FileCloud doesn\u2019t stop there: we\u2019re always adding new integrations like:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>AirWatch<\/li>\n<li>Azure Blob<\/li>\n<li>Gmail\/Outlook<\/li>\n<li>OnlyOffice<\/li>\n<li>Salesforce<\/li>\n<li>Onelogin<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And that\u2019s only a few of the integrations we <a href=\"https:\/\/www.filecloud.com\/third-party-integration\/\">have available<\/a>!<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Amazon has <a href=\"https:\/\/amazonworkdocs.com\/apps.html\">very few integrations<\/a> such as Office Online and Active Directory. The lack of these tools and apps really adds up in the end and can cost each employee hours of lost time each week.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"FileClouds_Comprehensive_Compliance_Center\"><\/span>FileCloud\u2019s Comprehensive Compliance Center<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Compliance is another vital aspect of solid Content Collaboration Platforms (or CCPs). At FileCloud, we\u2019re always watching regulations as they pass and try to find ways to support your compliance needs.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s why we have an entire <a href=\"https:\/\/www.filecloud.com\/compliance-center\/?utm_source=google&amp;utm_medium=cpc&amp;utm_campaign=FC-Performance-Max&amp;utm_term=&amp;gclid=CjwKCAiAxvGfBhB-EiwAMPakqnM3QTtfX_EjqVEjvIZfaKJZ_YpVbHH6v7lRE_lFunDRAUOcOsR-9RoCovgQAvD_BwE\">Compliance Center<\/a> with separate tabs for HIPAA, GDPR, and ITAR. The Compliance Center helps connect these complicated and ever-changing regulations with the security tools and retention policies that FileCloud provides, making compliance easier than ever.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.filecloud.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/FileClouds-Compliance-Center.png\"><\/p>\n<p>In the Compliance Center dashboard, admins and compliance officers will be able to review best practices, recommendations, and areas where compliance is lacking or needed. Event logs can also be saved for review or audit purposes.<\/p>\n<p>Amazon WorkDocs has limited compliance options, and companies must have a signed Business Associate Agreement (BAA) with them for HIPAA eligibility.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Built-In_Security\"><\/span>Built-In Security<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Hyper-security has been a core focus of FileCloud from the very beginning. That includes 256-bit AES encryption and SSL\/TLS protocols to secure data in transit and at rest. We also have in-built security such as:<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Smart_DLP\"><\/span>Smart DLP<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>FileCloud\u2019s flexible, rule-driven <a href=\"https:\/\/www.filecloud.com\/smart-dlp-intelligent-data-leak-protection-to-secure-enterprise-content\/\">Smart DLP<\/a> prevents data leaks before they occur by controlling user actions, evaluating rule expressions and variables to \u201callow\u201d or \u201cdeny\u201d selected actions, while also logging any violations in the case of auditing.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Anti-Virus_Scanning\"><\/span>Anti-Virus Scanning<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>FileCloud automatically scans uploaded files for viruses. FileCloud\u2019s heuristic file content scanning engine also detects and blocks ransomware and malware. In addition, FileCloud can be integrated with any anti-virus system that supports ICAP.<\/p>\n<p>Amazon WorkDocs doesn\u2019t have these built-in security tools built in, though they can be added. Effectively, this means you\u2019ll have to purchase additional tools to get the security you need.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Retention_Policies_Enterprises_Need\"><\/span>The Retention Policies Enterprises Need<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Retention policies, especially in enterprises with hundreds or thousands of employees, are vital to ensure records are maintained or destroyed to comply with internal policies or external regulations. These retention policies automatically move, delete, or prevent deletion of files according to preset rules.<\/p>\n<p>FileCloud has five different types of retention policies:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Admin Hold:<\/strong> Outranks all other policies and prevents any update or delete of digital content for an indefinite period of time.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Legal Hold:<\/strong> Freezes digital content to aid discovery or legal challenges. During a legal hold, file modifications are not allowed.<\/li>\n<li><strong> Retention: <\/strong>Identifies digital content to be kept around for an unlimited amount of time before being deleted or released.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Archival:<\/strong> Moves and stores old organizational content for long term. No deletion is allowed until a specified time period is reached. After this time, content is moved to a specific folder.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Trash Retention:<\/strong> Can be configured for automatic and permanent deletion of all files in the Trash bins or to expire with no action.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In case of conflicting policies, FileCloud always enforces the policy that best protects and stores the data.<\/p>\n<p>Amazon only has one retention policy available, a trash bin policy where files can be set to not be deleted for up to a year. This of course isn\u2019t helpful in the case of many of the largest compliance requirements (like HIPAA) where files must be kept up to 6 years or risk fines, lawsuits, and even jail time.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Conclusion\"><\/span>Conclusion<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Amazon WorkDocs might work for one small team who want to collaboration on a few documents, but it\u2019s lacking the tools that enterprises need such as integrations, a compliance center, built-in security tools, and multiple retention policies.<\/p>\n<p>You don\u2019t have to just take our word for it.
