In the competitive and dynamic space of modern enterprises, the demand for automation has never been higher. This is driven by a need to create competitive advantage and move at greater velocity to meet customer needs. To help organizations further address these requirements, FileCloud has announced the acquisition of Signority<\/a>, a leading, Canadian-based e-Signature and document workflow automation solution provider to add to the existing enterprise file sharing and sync portfolio. Signority provides organizations with an end-to-end secure, automated digital signature solution that enables seamless digital transactions, governance, and compliance. Signority is both SOC 2 and CSA STAR Level 2 certified and meets all requirements for Canadian-based entities that must ensure data sovereignty and residency. This acquisition complements FileCloud\u2019s existing content workflow automation capabilities and provides additional capabilities that will help customers streamline their content-related business workflows.<\/p>\n

Importance of e-Signature in Content Automation<\/h2>\n

In typical file and document related workflows, authoring or ingest into an enterprise environment is just the start. Enabling the proper levels of collaboration across stakeholders, ensuring that the right security and access control policies are applied and making sure that the content is appropriately categorized and retained are additional critical components. FileCloud\u2019s automation and policy framework enables all of these requirements. However, the drive for additional enterprise digitization, accelerated over the past few years, has also led to an increase in requirements for e-Signature capabilities embedded in the file and content management process. Content is at the heart of today\u2019s businesses and the most critical processes and transactions often require a signing step. Meeting this additional customer need with Signority is a core part of FileCloud\u2019s automation strategy.<\/p>\n

Integration and User Experience<\/h3>\n

While there are many solutions available for customers when it comes to e-Signature, these often are disconnected and can lead to poor user experience, for employees and external parties who are engaged in the process. Additionally, there is typically a requirement for content that is signed to be stored long-term in a third-party cloud service over which the organization that owns the content has limited control. As we progress through our integration of FileCloud\u2019s product portfolio, customers will be equipped with the control of ensuring that their content stays on-premises\u2014or within their own self-managed public cloud ecosystem for long term storage by enabling FileCloud as a storage target for signed documents. Additionally, to provide a seamless user experience for customers, triggering of signing workflows from within FileCloud will also be enabled in forthcoming product updates. This integration will provide a streamlined approach for wider coverage of typical document workflow processes.<\/p>\n

Compliance<\/h3>\n

Compliance with industry-specific and jurisdictional standards is a top priority for CIOs in organizations of all sizes. Some of these already or will soon carry significant financial implications for failure to comply. These often require significant changes to the IT infrastructure, processes, and content management approaches. They typically require a standardized approach to managing access to and storage of documents, including how electronic signing is managed (especially for content containing sensitive data). FileCloud provides a range of capabilities for generating and automatically applying policies based on the characteristics of given content. Templates are also provided for blueprinting the configuration of the content ecosystem to comply with the relevant articles of standards such as GDPR, HIPAA and NIST 800-171. The addition of capabilities for ensuring a compliant and legally acceptable method for collecting and processing e-Signatures further enhances the solution and simplifies the process of complying with required standards.<\/p>\n

The Future<\/h3>\n

We are thrilled to have the established product and talented team of Signority as part of the FileCloud organization. Signority\u2019s capabilities will significantly enable us to simplify end-to-end workflow automation for our customers. Over the upcoming quarters we will be enabling product integrations between the different parts of our portfolio that will make it easier for customers to solve their content-automation related challenges and continue to drive their digital transformation initiatives.<\/p>\n

We plan to continue to invest in the Canadian market and build on top of the successful business that Signority has established, while also enabling customers globally with the strong value propositions of the FileCloud solution.
