Adobe has taken steps over the past year to discontinue Creative Cloud Synced Files for new and pre-existing personal accounts. Effective October 1, 2024, Adobe is also discontinuing Creative Cloud Synced Files for Business Plans.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Organizations and enterprises that currently rely on Creative Cloud sync are now pressed to identify and implement an effective replacement solution. The solution needs to provide similar functionalities as Adobe\u2019s Creative Cloud Synced Files, so organizations can continue to collaborate, back up data, and access files remotely when working on Adobe-based media.\n<\/p>\n

\u201cCreative Cloud has enabled users to save files on their local devices in a folder called Creative Cloud Files. The contents of this folder can be synced (copied) to the user\u2019s cloud storage via a process that runs on the local device. Files can be accessed locally on the device in a folder named Creative Cloud Files or through the Creative Cloud website within the Launch more menu (Synced files option).\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Adobe Discontinuing Creative Cloud Synced Files \u2013 Impact to Organizations and Users<\/h2>\n

For users and organizations alike, discontinuing Adobe Creative Cloud Synced Files has proven to be a source of confusion and frustration<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Public cloud services are available that can support file storage and desktop sync; however, these services do not offer the level of data control and privacy that many organizations and enterprises need.<\/p>\n

FileCloud is an Enterprise File Sync and Share (EFSS) solution that provides hyper-secure file sharing, collaboration, and data governance. As an alternative to Adobe Creative Cloud Synced Files, FileCloud supports media file storage and sharing with a secure and easy-to-use interface.<\/p>\n

FileCloud: a Secure Alternative to Adobe Creative Cloud Synced Files<\/h2>\n

FileCloud\u2019s Team Folders<\/a> functionality offers users a collaborative digital workspace. Users can work online, through the web browser or mobile app, but they can also work from their local desktop and synchronize files and folders with their FileCloud account, via FileCloud Desktop (macOS<\/a> \/ Windows \u2013 Beta<\/a>) or FileCloud Sync<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Similar to Adobe Creative Cloud, users can leverage FileCloud Desktop or FileCloud Sync to designate FileCloud Team Folders content to be available offline and sync all the changes to FileCloud. When the user makes changes to the offline versions of files, these changes are saved and synced when a network connection is re-established. The changes are then reflected in users\u2019 computers.<\/p>\n

However, FileCloud is able to do more than enable synchronization of cloud files to a desktop. Users are also able to extend hyper-secure file sharing and collaboration.<\/p>\n

With tools such as granular permissions, access authentication mechanisms, role-based access controls, and an intuitive UI, FileCloud makes it easy for enterprises and organizations to store, sync, and collaborate while keeping sensitive and proprietary data safe.<\/p>\n

Share Media Files with External Users<\/h3>\n

FileCloud Team Folders are powerful workspaces for internal collaboration. Sometimes though, organizations need to coordinate with external parties, such as agencies, customers, and service providers.<\/p>\n

With FileCloud, users can easily share files with external recipients. This can be done as a private share (by creating an external account for the recipients) or as a public share link.<\/p>\n

Private shares offer the full range of collaboration access permissions, including the ability to edit, delete, share, or manage the file. Free external user accounts<\/a> can be used by external parties to store, sync, and collaborate on files and folders within the FileCloud interface.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, these external accounts don\u2019t use up a license seat. These accounts also provide admins with security oversight. Comprehensive audit logs capture all user activity, including file access, sync, sharing, etc.<\/p>\n

Users can also share files by creating a public link. This link provides an easy way to share and disseminate information with external project stakeholders, who can access files with read and\/or download permissions. Organization users can also create share links to collect<\/em> information from external collaborators and stakeholders (file upload functionality).<\/p>\n

Share Image Files and Enable File Preview in Browser<\/h3>\n

With FileCloud, users can share individual image file(s) and choose what permissions to grant to external users. This level of control ensures that only authorized users can interact with files, adhering to the Zero Trust policy of \u201cleast privilege.\u201d<\/p>\n

The default share setting in FileCloud is View\/Download, which enables recipients to preview files on the web or download the file(s) to their computers.<\/p>\n

When you mouse over the file, the action bar will appear; you can now hit \u201cShare.\u201d<\/p>\n

The file icon offers a small preview of the file image, but the user can also view the full file by simply clicking:<\/p>\n

Since we decided to allow \u201cView\u201d permission only, the user cannot download the file. Even the right-click functionality is unavailable.<\/p>\n
