Ray Downes
CEO
Ray Downes was Chief Executive Officer of Kemp from 2012 to 2021. During his time at Kemp, he oversaw the transformation of the company from niche load balancing/application delivery product into category leadership of the rapidly growing “Application Experience” (AX) market. Throughout this period, the company grew from > $10M to over $70M annual revenues and from 30 employees to over 300, completing two acquisitions along the way (Flowmon Networks & Lithops).
Ray initially joined the company in 2010 to work with the founders. He was elevated to CEO in early 2012 following a change in ownership to a consortium of expansion stage Venture Capital firms. In 2019 Kemp was acquired by Mill Point Capital, a New York based private equity firm focusing on strategic and operational enhancement of strong, profitable, growth companies. In November 2021, it was announced by Progress Software (NASDAQ: PRGS) that they had completed the acquisition of Kemp for $258M all-cash deal. Progress provides a suite of products to develop, deploy and manage high-impact business applications.
Prior to Kemp, Ray held several executive leadership positions including with global networking technology companies like Cabletron Systems and Enterasys Networks. From 2002-2010, Ray co-founded Arrosys, a European-based Sales & Marketing consultancy which specialized in efficiently launching expansion stage technology companies into European Sales markets. Educated in his native Ireland at the Limerick Institute of Technology, Ray and his wife Janet reside on Long Island, New York.
Peter Melerud

A 30-year IT industry innovator and entrepreneur, Peter Melerud has served a broad range of customer segments with a focus on delivering exceptional value through disruptive technology. Throughout his career, Peter has blended a deep understanding of data center infrastructure and application delivery technologies with innovative go-to-market strategies that has resulted in rapid customer adoption and revenue growth.
As co-founder of Kemp in 2003, Peter was instrumental in leading the Kemp business from incubation to one of the most disruptive players in application experience (AX), through to the companies eventual sale to Progress Software for $258M which closed in November 2021 . He has navigated product management, business development, sales, marketing, and customer success programs that have translated into continuous year-over-year growth, profitability, and pioneering the new horizon of how enterprises and cloud providers deliver and secure their applications. Serving as chief strategy officer for Kemp, Peter develops, executes and sustains corporate strategic initiatives with a particular focus on go-to-market, product strategy, corporate development, as well as establishing key technology alliances.
Prior to Kemp, Peter has worked in various sales and engineering leadership roles for EIA, Orange Business Services and Netlan. Peter splits his time between The USA and Ireland where he and his wife Lora have homes.
George Lo
CFO
George Lo is Chief Financial Officer at File Cloud to oversee company’s global financial and operational functions. With more than two decades of financial management expertise, he is responsible for all aspects of File Cloud’s financial reporting, tax compliance, analytics, human resources, legal, corporate development, strategic planning, and internal control.
Prior to joining File Cloud, George served as Chief Financial Officer at Kemp Technologies, a global Application Experience leader, and completed two consecutive successful exits, one with a New York private equity firm, Mill Point Capital, and another to NASDAQ publicly traded company, Progress Software (PRGS), both represented significant returns to the shareholders.
Prior to Kemp, George was Director of Finance at a boutique global consulting firm, SmartAnalyst, an Edison Partners portfolio, from 2009 to 2013, where he managed subsidiaries in both UK and India from New York. Prior to that he started his career in the US first as Internal Auditor then Accounting Manager at MRBI, one of the top US media conglomerates specializing in radio and television broadcasting and participated in a $170 million acquisition from Scripps Networks. Prior to coming to the US, he worked five years in Taiwan with a local advertising firm and contributed driving the company for over 1,100% growth until he decided to pursue further education in the US.
George holds an M.B.A. graduated Magna Cum Laude from University of California and is a Certified Public Accountant. He was named CFO of the Year by Edison Partners in 2019.
Madhan Kanagavel
Founder, President & CTO
Madhan drives FileCloud’s overall product and technology vision, strategy and execution. As founder of FileCloud, he bootstrapped the company to over 2000+ satisfied enterprise customers building a highly capital efficient, customer-centric, people-first, product and service-oriented company.
Over the last 15 years, prior to founding FileCloud, Madhan has worked on diverse systems and technology, including building highly scalable MMORPG game server technology, high speed real-time video acquisition systems, digital video engagement solutions, and Artificial Intelligence (A.I.).
Madhan likes to use technlogy to solve complex, intractable customer problems elegantly without sacrificing UX.
Passionate about building an efficient, productive and engaged remote workplace, he wrote the ‘Getting Remote Work Done’ book that translates his experience into something everyone could use day-to-day. He originally created and released the popular open source Money Manager EX application.
Madhan holds a Master of Science degree in Engineering from Boston University.
Anis Abdul
SVP, Chief Architect
Anis drives technology innovation and overall mobile technology vision for the company in his role as the Chief Architect at FileCloud. He has over 20 years of experience in information technology areas ranging from embedded system development to large, distributed design and development. His expertise lies in requirements analysis, architecture and design of large systems over a wide range of technologies.
Anis has been instrumental with design, development and delivery of the server, mobile and client app products for FileCloud. He is responsible for spearheading initiatives such as FileCloud Drive file streaming app and mobile application development. He also led transformation of the FileCloud codebase to better handle the changing requirements brought by new areas such as compliance, workflow automation and security.
In fall of 2019, Anis led the architecture and development of AirSend, a cloud product designed for team collaboration. This is a strategic initiative for FileCloud to better serve the needs of distributed enterprises.
Before FileCloud, he spent over 13 years at IBM’s Server division, overseeing design, engineering and architecture for embedded firmware. He holds over 17 patents in reliability and redundancy of server systems. Anis’s experience enables bringing in highly scalable and efficient architectures to FileCloud’s products and services.
When not working on FileCloud’s software, Anis is an avid Astro-photographer and astronomy enthusiast. He holds multiple APODs from NASA for his astro-photographs.
Anis holds a Master of Science degree in Engineering from Texas A&M University, College Station.
Radhakrishnan Sethuraman
SVP, Technology Operations & Support
Radhakrishnan Sethuraman (Rad) is responsible for teams handling customer support and devops. Rad is responsible for FileCloud’s cloud infrastructure including AWS, Azure and other cloud infrastructures required for hosting FileCloud online sites with customers spanning all regions and industries. Rad is responsible for FileClouds’s stellar customer support team that has drawn accolades and helped get Gartner’s Peer Insight award for 3 years in a row.
Rad is also responsible for overseeing technology selection, solution development and FileCloud’s storage system architecture. Rad has more than 20 years of experience in managing diverse products and working closely with customers to provide complex and varied technical deployment solutions. He also has experience in Linux, database technologies, highly scalable and highly available systems. He also holds over 23 patents in various server networking functional areas.
Rad has co-authored a book on the Linux Standard. His published works include a paper on improving text compression using partial-matching approach.
Rad holds a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from Texas Tech University.
Sathya Ramanathan
SVP, Engineering
Sathya is responsible for the overall FileCloud’s product, engineering execution, and delivery. Sathya leads, coordinates, supervises, and provides technical oversight to the large FileCloud engineering team that includes Server, Client, Mobile, UI/UX, QA, and release management teams. Sathya ensures that the FileCloud product vision is realized through high-quality recruiting, mentorship, internal communication, and on-time delivery and has successfully delivered over 15 major product releases.
Sathya has 15+ years of experience in technical leadership and software architecture roles in software development, leading and managing teams in business process improvement, travel, and tourism industries.
Sathya holds a MS in Management Information Systems from Texas Tech University.
Venkat Ramasamy
SVP, Product Marketing
Venkat is a talented executive with over 20 years of experience building, running, and marketing Enterprise SaaS products. He brings hands-on experience in opportunity identification, customer acquisition, software pricing, business model planning, product management, cloud infrastructure, technical sales, marketing, channel development, developer and press relations, and UX.
As a Co-Founder & SVP Product Marketing at FileCloud, Venkat leads product marketing and various business development activities. He has proven leadership skills in managing distributed and cross-functional project teams. He helped pivot the business from consumer internet to enterprise, led cloud partnerships, and closed large deals.
Before FileCloud, Venkat worked as a product manager for Garmin and performed market research, opportunity identification, and competitor analysis. Venkat managed the Apple MFi program for Garmin.
Before Garmin, Venkat worked as a product development manager for Schlumberger. He led a team of 20 software engineers, onsite and offshore, to develop a next-generation Enterprise Credential Management (ECM) solution to manage smartcards. He has performed product demos/POCs at Fortune 50 companies, including leading oil and gas majors such as Chevron, Exxon, and Shell.
Venkat has an MBA from U. Texas Austin and MS (Information Systems) from Texas Tech.
Manoj Mohandas
SVP, Global Sales
Manoj Mohandas is a seasoned executive with 20+ years of experience in the technology industry. Manoj has strong expertise in helping build companies and brings a wealth of knowledge in areas such as software product creation, developing and managing global sales, and client success teams with large, measurable outcomes. He has helped large enterprises adopt software platforms successfully in various markets throughout North America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
As a Co-Founder & SVP of Global Sales at FileCloud, Manoj leads sales, partnerships, channel development, and various business development activities. From the ground up, he built and is managing various teams (Sales Ops, Solutions Engineering, Sales & CSM).
During his free time, you could see Manoj on the soccer fields around Austin cheering for his son’s and daughter’s teams. He is an avid LSU football fan.
Manoj holds a Master of Science degree in Industrial Engineering and a Master of Science degree in Systems Science from Louisiana State University.
