Tonido Cloud is a highly scalable Cloud Storage and Sync solution suitable for deployments from 10s of users to millions of users.
Understanding the Tonido Cloud Architecture
Tonido Cloud software is typically installed on a server (Linux or Windows). There is an admin portal to configure and manage the system.
Once configured, users can access the Tonido Cloud installation using the web browser, mobile apps or even keep their desktop folders in sync using the desktop sync clients.
Tonido Cloud Storage
Tonido Cloud can manage and make available two types of storage:
- Managed Storage
- Managed File Storage is the fully managed storage that is maintained by Tonido Cloud. Users get storage quotas and can access, share, sync all files in the managed storage. This is available in the "My Files" section.
- Network Shares
- Admins can optionally make available existing organizational folder shares available via Tonido Cloud. Such shares can be access via web browser or mobile apps for instant remote access whereever you are. This is available in the "Network Shares" section.
For small deployments, you can use Tonido Cloud with Local Storage configuration. For larger deployments, you would want to use redundant object storage systems like open stack or Amazon S3.
