Using a Proxy Server

As an Administrator, you can configure proxy network settings.

A proxy server is a computer system or an application that acts as an intermediary for requests from clients seeking resources from other servers.

A client connects to the proxy server, requesting some service, such as a file, connection, web page, or other resource available from a different server.
The proxy server evaluates the request as a way to simplify and control its complexity.

Proxies are used to add structure and encapsulation to distributed systems.

Today, most proxies are web proxies, facilitating access to content on the World Wide Web, providing anonymity and bypassing IP address blocking.

To configure proxy settings:

In the FileCloud admin portal's left navigation bar, scroll down and click Settings. Then, on the Settings navigation page, click Misc .
By default, General settings are opened.
Scroll down to Enable Proxy Settings, and enable it.
Additional proxy settings appear.
Enter values for Proxy host, Proxy port, Proxy user name, and Proxy password.
Click Save.
