California Institute of the Arts (or CalArts) is a fine arts schools with 1,500 students and 400 staff which offers bachelors, masters, and doctoral programs.
The university faced a critical challenge when Google Workspace for Education stopped providing unlimited storage. CalArts needed a new EFSS tool that would provide the large file storage, sharing, and collaboration that the community expected, especially as many of the stored and shared content were large video and image files.
In the search for the ideal solution, FileCloud stood out due to its comprehensive features and ease of use. After evaluating options like Nextcloud, CalArts found FileCloud to be the perfect fit.
With unlimited storage, sharing, and collaboration tools, FileCloud met CalArts' need for a robust EFSS solution, and FileCloud's intuitive interface helped ensure a smooth transition for students, faculty, and staff.
CalArts' faculty, students, and staff can securely share and store large video and image files without any concerns about storage limitations. By utilizing FileCloud, they can seamlessly collaborate on assignments and projects across various devices, ensuring continuity across projects.
Moreover, the IT department at CalArts benefits from streamlined management tools, such as granular access controls, VPN-free accessibility, and two-factor authentication for enhanced security.
