Convenient Desktop Edit

We hope you’re having a great November! A new FileCloud feature that we’d like to introduce to you is the Desktop Edit client.

FileCloud’s Desktop Edit client lets users seamlessly edit files from the FileCloud web browser in their native applications. For example, when a user clicks “Edit in Word” on a Microsoft Word document in FileCloud, the file will open in Word on his or her desktop. Any changes made to the document are immediately saved to the file in FileCloud. This makes getting work done even easier.

Simple Group Management

Another new FileCloud feature is user group management. Users can now create and manage groups like the ones made by administrators. These groups make it easier for users to share content with the right people and manage permissions for that content. When sharing a folder with a group, users can specify whether group members can view, download, upload, share, sync, delete, or manage that folder. Individual documents come with the ability to permit downloads, uploads, or shares.

Some use cases for user groups management include:

Forming a team group to streamline collaboration on projects organized by folder
Creating a group of customers to easily and securely share sensitive reports and deliverables
