Secure Government Data with FileCloud
Government organizations and public sector companies rely on data security and governance frameworks to ensure the integrity, availability, and usability of data. Effective data protection ensures the trustworthy and consistent nature of data.
Challenges in Secure Data Sharing and Governance
Today, the government sector faces many challenges regarding data security and governance.
- Friction between security and operational requirements
- Sophisticated cyberthreats from independent organizations and nation states
- Aging IT infrastructure, uncoordinated updates to systems, software, and hardware
- Inefficient scaling and soaring costs associated with digital transformation and cloud computing
- Exponential growth of unstructured data, data sprawl, and poor data hygiene
- Contradictory data sovereignty and privacy regulations across states, provinces, regions, and countries
Overcoming Security and Governance Challenges with FileCloud
FileCloud offers powerful capabilities to support government data security while facilitating file sharing. The benefits include continuous monitoring, visibility of interactions, granular level file security and controls, policy-based data protection, event logs and audit logs, data encryption, and secure integration with external solutions.
Admin Controls
The administrative portal manages users, accounts, remote devices, and storage. Extensive admin capabilities are organized intuitively. Further support comes from detailed support documentation and and Professional Services, which can help configure and manage the FileCloud solution.
Governance & Compliance
FileCloud’s data governance tools streamline and automate content life cycle management, thanks to metadata management (for built-in and custom metadata sets), a content classification engine, retention policies, real-time data leak prevention capabilities, and a built-in Compliance Center, supporting such regulations as HIPAA, ITAR, GDPR, NIST 800-171, and KSA PDPL.

Encryption and Integration
Full encryption of files in transit and at rest is provided by FileCloud, with an option to run FileCloud in FIPS mode (enforces FIPS 140-2 cryptographic modules). Integration with Active Directory, LDAP, and remote accessing Windows file servers are supported.
Advanced Audit
FileCloud’s centralized administrator dashboard provides visibility on comprehensive audit trails. The administrators can understand usage patterns, monitor user behavior, and set alerts for suspicious activity; admins are also able to export audit logs as CSV files for additional analysis or to integrate with SIEM.

Data Loss Prevention
FileCloud provides data loss prevention in many ways. Admins can leverage remote device management and remote wipe to monitor devices and prevent unauthorized access. With the “Recycle Bin” feature, admins can recover files that were deleted accidentally. FileCloud also supports unlimited file versioning with the rollback feature. Users can share files in “View Only” mode, which will prevent downloading, printing, and copying/pasting those files, and admins can create view-only policies to apply globally, to specific groups, or specific users.
Disaster Recovery
FileCloud enables the replication of a site to another location using ServerLink. All changes are replicated seamlessly on the other site. The changes in the primary site are replicated in the secondary sites and vice versa. If a change happens in one secondary site and there are multiple secondary sites, that change is propagated to all secondary sites and the primary site. This feature provides complete data redundancy and disaster recovery.
